Answers to Your Questions About Winter Travel to Europe

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Have you wondered what touring Europe would be like in the Autumn, Winter or Spring? Tour directors answer your questions.

Q.  Why are the prices lower than summer first class tours?

A.  The prices are lower because Trafalgar and other tour companies can negotiate seasonlly adjusted rates from hotels, suppliers and venues at this time of year.

Q.  Will any of the sights and attractions be closed?

A.  Absolutely not.  Museums and most venues are open all year round.

Q.  Do the shorter days affect sightseeing?

A.  It does get dark earlier in Winter, but the upside is that clients get to enjoy the fabulous city illuminations earlier int he evening, especiy  a, Vienna, Venice and Rome.  Then, there are the Christmas lights.  Paris by night is beautiful at anytime of year, but Paris in December is magnificent.

Q.  Are the hotels of an equal standard to those used on summer first class tours?

A.  Hotels are either the same or of equal standard to out summer first class program, but at a lower price.

Q.  What is a must-have item tha client often forget to pack?

A.  Sunglasses are a must, even in Winter.  Sometimes people forget that sunlight on snow can be very bright.

Q.  What are some quintessential European experience during Winter?

A.  The Alps – the weather is more reliable with clear blue skis.  Snuggling up with a cup of hot chocolate and some apple strudel in Austria, Germany or Switerland is pure bliss.  Exploring the Christmas markets and Paris by night are not to be missed.

Q.  What about meals, will restaurants be closed?

A.  There may be a few restaurants closed for the holidays or refurbishment, but that’s all.  Generally, we use the same vanues as on our Summer tours.

Q.  Are there any places that are better to tour in the coller months?

A.  Some destinations like Egypt, Israel, Greece and Turkey can be wonderful when the temperatures are milder and the attractions less crowded.

Brought to you by Trafalgar Tours.  Beat the heat and the crowds at unbeleiveable prices on Trafalgar 2010 winter tours.

European Travel Packages

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Discover the places you’ve always longed to see. Marvel at each country’s historic icons and scenic panoramas.  England, Ireland and Northern Ireland, while home to perhaps the most trend-setting and international of European cities, also have some of the most beautiful countryside on earth.  In Italy, you can see more than 2,000 years of history within one city, witness the genius of Michelangelo and DaVinci or visit an enchanting island city that defies reason.  France shares with us the pleasures of life: excellent wines, awe-inspiring art and sumptuous food. Germany zooms ahead along its Autobahn, but stops long enough to raise a stein, sing a song and welcome the world.  The Netherlands, with one wooden shoe in its charming past and the other in the innovative future, continues to enchant visitors with its iconic windmills, tulips and canals.

We welcome you to research European Travel Package by destination, or by clicking on our preferred travel partners. You’ll find a selection of tours, cruises, vacations and rail packages.

Here is our network of Europe travel destination sites:

Trafalgar Tours Expands Be My Guest Dinners

Monday, October 12th, 2009

BeMyGuest_75x50pxlTrafalgar Tours expands their popular Be My Guests Dinner experiences to Australia, South America, China and Hawaii. This program ensures you have the opportunity to something different on your vacation. You will enjoy genuine local dining experiences, hosted by family run establishments in exclusive Trafalgar locations.

Here are some examples of these culinary experiences that will add a unique flavor to our vacation:

Australia:
Enjoy a dinner under the stars in Australia at a Maori Hangi (feast,) where you will be dancing and listening to the vibrant music, and your food will be cooked in the traditional way – by steam. You will be entertained at Ooraminna Station Homestead, near Alice Springs where you will discover the authentic taste of outback life.  In Watson Bay, Sydney, a real treat awaits you with great dining at the family-owned Watsons Bay Hotel This delightful Art Deco building on the beachfront has a sweeping outdoor deck with spectacular panoramic views, and is one of Sydney’s most enticing destinations.

In New Zealand, you will be invited into the home of direct descendants from the first ships to arrive in Christchurch, the Garden City, in 1850.  They will give you a personal tour of their historical home and gardens before enjoying a home cooked dinner complete with local wine.

On tour there will be mouthwatering lunches like a tropical buffet onboard a catamaran as you sail the Great Barrier Reef, or while you cruise New Zealand’s majestic Milford Sound.

China:
Experience a traditional Peking Duck Feast in Beijing, a Tang Dynasty Dinner  in Xi’an or a Dim Sum lunch in Shanghai.  Get a glimpse of local family life while enjoying a Chinese home hosted highlight lunch.

South America
Enjoy a Brazilian barbecue dinner. In Buenos Aires, attend a traditional Argentine dinner hosted in the apartment-home of a resident.  In Lima, relish a three-course Peruvian lunch in the private and elegant mansion of the Diez Canseco family. IN Costa Rica, you will have the opportunity to lunch at a local hoe, then children from a nearby school will perform a typical dance.

Hawaii:
Attend a traditional Hawaiian Luau with song, dance and food, lunch at the Volcano House and visits to a coffee plantation or local organic farm.

Trafalgar Tours 2010

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Trafalgar_TaglineTrafalgar has released a series of dates and preview pricing for many of their 2010 Europe tours, guaranteeing the lowest prices for clients that book early.

Here is how it works:

You place a $200 deposit per person, and this will guarantee you the best price. Then, should the prices increase in OCT 2009 when the actual 2010 brochure is released, Trafalgar will honor the preview price. Should the prices decrease, Trafalgar will honor the lower price vs. the preview one.

Bottom line is that by placing your deposit early, you are guaranteed the lowest price!
