Celebration Cruise Line Moves to Port of Palm Beach

If you live in South Florida, you are sure to have heard the commercials airing on the local channels for Celebration Cruises.  Celebration Cruise Line has 1 ship currently sailing out of Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. The ship will move to it’s new home in the port of Palm Beach on March 2, 2010.

Celebration Cruise Line would be the first multi-day cruises to sail from the Port of Palm Beach since the Palm Beach Princess in 1996.  The cruise line will offer 2, 4 and 6 night cruise package in conjunction with the Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort.

The ship was originally built in 1981, and was refurbished in 2009.  There are 3 dining rooms onboard (American, Brazilian style steakhouse and buffet and an Italian restaurant) all included in the cruise fare.  There is also a specialty restaurant called The Cove which cost $25 pp.  There are two pools, a casino, two-story night club, spa, gym and kids clubs.

A typical two-day cruise would leave Port of Palm Beach at 6 p.m. and dock at Grand Bahamas Island the next morning.  Passengers would have the day to spend on the island.  The ship would depart at 6 p.m. and arrive back in Palm Beach the next day. Four- and six-night packages would include three- and four-night stays at the Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort.

Cabin choices included an “oceanview coach” which has a a porthole window and bunk beds, an oceanview cabin  with a picture window and standard queen bed (some also have pull downs to accommodate 4,) a club suite and a deluxe suite.

The 680-foot ship must pass a maneuverability test set for Sunday morning before the deal is finalized, but no problems are anticipated.
