Opera fans, culture mavens and aficionados of the just-plain spectacular might consider heading to Israel next year for the Masada Opera Weekend, from June 3rd to 5th. Tickets to the weekend’s events- two performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Nabucco” and a concert by American soprano Jessye Norman, under the famed, desert mountain plateau where ancient guerrillas held off Roman troops during the first century – are available only as a part of overnight hotel packages.
Tickets are being sold only with a hotel package in the Dead Sea region because each evening’s event will run until 1am, which is too late for travelers to return to more distant accommodations options.
We are offering six-night (starting May 30th) and 12-night (starting May 28) Israel Vacations incorporating the Masada Opera Weekend, priced from $5695 to $8285. Clients can choose Gold Category hotel accommodations with level 1 seating or bronze hotels with level 2 seating.
This year the Masada Opera Week is the first year it is available to U.S. tourists. Many sophisticated travelers are looking for historical, cultural experiences. Israel is not only a religious destination, but one with concerts, celebrity performances and other cultural events.
