Who doesn’t love getting all bundled up and visiting a cold destination that they’ve never been to before? Now is the perfect time of year to venture out into the cold and take part in many cold weather activities. Anchorage, Alaska
There are many things to do in Anchorage, Alaska. Visitors can check out the Northern Light if they want to experience a spectacular winter light show. For adventurers there’s also ice climbing or snowboarding. To get a good look at the area, the Alyeska Aerial Tram goes right over the city. Anchorage, Alaska is easily accessible by plane and there are many great places to stay in the area.
Hokkaido, Japan
Hokkaido, Japan is full of culture and a lot of great cold weather activities. The ski resort known as Niseko, is one of the best places to ski in the world. It snows quite a bit there which allows for a great skiing experience. There’s also a drift ice sightseeing experience where tourists can see these huge chunks of ice that only occur during the winter in the Ohotsuku Sea. Hokkaido, Japan is easily accessible by flying into the New Chitose Airport. Accommodations for the area include hotels that feature elaborate Japanese décor and world class hospitality.
London, England
You haven’t experienced London until you’ve been there during the winter time. Most people choose not to visit London when it’s cold out because the weather can be kind of dreary. However, this makes it a great time to travel there because it’s often less crowded and there are still a lot of things to do. This is the best time of year to visit the many museums in London, including The Natural History Museum which is free to get in. The Covent Garden Market is also a great spot for tourists. It’s kind of a one stop shop for souvenirs and English delicacies. Not only is London easily accessible by flying into the London City Airport, there are many accommodations available that can suit just about any budget.
