Best Places to Travel in September

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Here are some ideas on some of best places to travel in September.

If you enjoy cruising, some of the best deals can be found on Caribbean cruises in September. There is a risk, as it is during the peak of hurricane season, but if you purchase insurance, some cruise lines do allow you to cancel for any reason and receive future cruise credits to rebook within one year of your cancellation. Hawaii and Bermuda also offer lower pricing during this time, but although they are not hit as often as the Caribbean and U.S., both can get hurricanes.

The U.S. national parks are a great destination in the fall. Children are back in school, so there are less crowds, and the weather is cooler. If the thought of a bus tour does not appeal to you, train tours through the national parks of Arizona and Colorado operate at this time.

Eastern Canada including Quebec and Niagara Falls, is another nice destination this time of year. If you want to enjoy the changing of the leaves, then consider going the last two weeks in September. You can take a four to ten day cruise on various cruise lines, including Norwegian, Crystal, Princess, Holland America and Carnival. You can also take a bus tour of Eastern Canada, or just drive up to Niagara Falls.

Europe is also popular in the fall, again because there are less crowds than during the summer months, and the weather is cooler. If you are visiting an area in the Mediterranean, the water is usually still warm enough for swimming or snorkeling. Most popular cities to visit this month are London, Paris, Barcelona, Venice, Rome, Edinburgh, Dublin and the Greek Isles. You can travel various ways, but if you are planning to visit several cities, the most cost effective ways to are cruises, tours or train package between each city.

You can take the chance and still travel to Alaska during this time frame, but certain areas such as Denali can get snow, which usually means popular excursions such as helicopter and flight-seeing can be cancelled.

Quebec Vacation Package

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Quebec City is a 400-year-old, fortified colonial city whose essence is captured in Place-Royale, the oldest neighborhood in North Am erica that has been beautifully restored and is a pleasure to stroll the streets to visit the restaurants, cafes and shops. The lower city is surrounded by an historic stone wall that you can walk atop for great views below. Mother Nature also staked her claim at Montmorency Falls, which are higher than the Niagara Falls.

Say bonjour to Old World charm and contemporary comfort at Loews Le Concorde, a luxury hotel in Quebec City. After strolling through the Old Town’s historic cobblestone streets, relax and enjoy Le Concorde’s many amenities. Located in the heart of action, with narrow cobblestone streets, cozy bistros and nightlife, all of this just a few steps from the hotel. The newly renovated rooms offer a breathtaking view the St. Lawrence River and the historical Battefields Park. Its distinction remains in the special attentions right down to the smallest detail. L’Astral, a unique award-winning revolving bar-restaurant, provides you with a 90-minute tour of the Capital at a glance while savouring exquisite regional cuisine.

4 nights at Lowes Le Concorde from $365 pp* Rate includes airport transfers and hotel taxes. There are a few other hotels to choose from, but our client’s favorites are the Faimont Le Chateau Frontenac & the Le Concorde.

If you are interested in touring the area, also available is a 6 night package, Quebec Holiday with 2 nights stays at 3 Fairmont Properties, including Chateau Frontenac.  The package includes some sightseeing and meals. There are 2 departures in November and 1 in December for $1,399 pp
