    Oceania Cruise Ships

    Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

oceanialogoYear after year, we find that Oceania has one of the highest rate of repeat passengers. Whether it’s due to the small ship feel, the unique ports of call or the gourmet cuisine, once a client experiences an Oceania ship, they are quite loyal.

If you are not familiar with Oceania’s ships, here is a brief overview:

    oceaniainsigniaOceania Insignia

As the second ship in the Oceania fleet, the mid-size Insignia features big-ship amenities, and carries 684 guests and 400 staff members. From the moment you enter the ship’s grand neo-classical reception hall, you’ll enjoy a “country club casual” atmosphere where you can spend time at sea as you please, and days in port guided by the expert knowledge of the ship’s Destination Services staff.

Flanked by two whirlpools and a bar, the main pool sparkles in the sun on the teak-lined deck. Inviting lounge chairs and a golf cage beckon from the sun deck. An outdoor jogging track tempts workout buffs, as does the fitness center. At the Oceania Spa by Mandara, guests can indulge in the Thalassotherapy whirlpool and massage rooms. Bridge and board games are among the draws in the ship’s card room, and the English-inspired library holds over 1,000 volumes. In addition, guests can enjoy the “Your World” lecture series, as well as dance classes and cooking demonstrations onboard.

Dining is a highlight, with the gourmet culinary program in the four open-seating restaurants overseen by Jacques Pepin, a celebrated chef and author of 19 cookbooks. White-glove service and hand-painted frescoes prevail in the main dining room. Dark woods complement floor-to-ceiling windows in the ship’s steakhouse, The Polo Grill. Toscana serves regional Italian cuisine, and the Terrace Cafe serves up Spanish-style appetizers al fresco each evening. When the lights go down, guests are invited to step into the ship’s casino, show lounge with live entertainment, martini bar, or any of the other friendly places to gather onboard.
