Fandango polled more than 2,000 summer movie fans to name which U.S. movie location they would like to visit the most.
The winner was Halona Cove (pictured to the right,) in Oahu which was used in the new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stanger Tides that was just released in May. This is the location where they filmed the pirates landing at the Fountain of Youth. It was also where they filmed the romantic beach scene between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in From Here to Eternity.
The Loop in Downtown Chicago was #2 for a scene from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Cowboys and Aliens Ghost Ranch in New Mexico was #3, which was also in City Slickers and Indiana Jones 4. San Francisco made the list for a scene from Rise of the Planet of the Apes and #5 Weirton, West Virginia from the movie Super 8.
My choice from the list above would be Oahu, but if I could make my own list it would be Rome from the movie When In Rome or Eat, Pray Love; or Verona and the surrounding countryside from scenes in the movie Letters to Juliet. My dream Italy trip is this Insight Tours Italian Vogue Gold, but my budget will probably only allow for the Globus Tour Best of Italy or the Trafalgar Tour Italy Bellisimo. Do you have a dream destination?
