Cuba Tours: The Wait is Over

As soon as U.S. government regulations took the pressure off traveling to Cuba, tour operators took the leap! Abercrombie & Kent and Globus were the first mainstream tour operators to announce travel to Cuba starting 2012. Americans will now be able to experience Cuba’s beautiful culture, breathtaking sights, and everlasting history by visiting places like Havana, Viñales, Las Terrazas, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and more! The tour operators will begin by releasing a series of religious-based travel programs with plans to expand into “people-to-people” travel.

This fall, A&K partnered with the Foundation for Caribbean Studies to design 6 programs for Americans that will travel to Cuba. “Cuba: The Forbidden Isle Revealed” will have its inaugural trip on September 30, 2011. Prices will start from $4,325 per person land-only.

Beginning August 10, 2011, Globus tours will be accepting bookings to Cuba. The new tour- “Cuba: A Spiritual, Historical and Cultural Journey”- will begin in 2012. The Center for Caribbean Religion and Culture, a licensed non-profit organization, helped design the itinerary, which will consist of 8 days starting at $2,889 per person land-only. Air and land arrangements will be handled by a licensed agency that has been authorized by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control Travel based in Miami to operate trips to Cuba.
