Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who lived just around the block from the brew house, claimed to have written his opera Idomeneo after a few stimulating visits to the Hofbräuhaus. The brewery holds regular concerts and other musical events for guests to attend. You can also take a tour or eat at the restaurant on the first floor.
- Oktoberfest. If you’re going to travel to Munich in late September or early October, the Oktoberfest is a can’t miss event. The Oktoberfest originally began as a royal wedding ceremony and has continued annually as a festive occasion that has been an important part of Bavarian culture for over 200 years. This year’s Oktoberfest is will begin on September 22nd and continue until October 7th. The Oktoberfest is the world’s largest fair, attracting over 5 million people annually. It’s an experience that you’ll never forget.
