Celebrity Cruises
The new Celebrity Reflection sets sail this December with exciting new Suite options and onboard venues. This week Celebrity Reflection will float out of her enclosed building dock at the Meyer Werft shipyard, into the sunlight for the first time. Once docked at a nearby pier, her signal mast and funnels will be put in place by a crane. Celebrity Reflection is part of the Solstice class, but she stands alone. The new ship boasts an expanded deck, 72 additional staterooms overall, more seating in the main and specialty restaurants, more sun lounges on the pool deck, and more seats in the theatre. The new Celebrity Reflection suite has a shower that hangs over the side of the ship (pictured here,) for a view down to the ocean – not to worry you can see out but others can’t see in.
A New Queen on the Mississippi
Cruise enthusiasts have anxiously awaited the arrival of American Queen, the first American-built steamboat to launch in years. Operated by American Queen Steamboat Company, this opulent steamer leisurely cruises along the Upper and Lower Mississippi along with its tributaries, calling in cities and towns that have played major roles in building America, such as Memphis, Louisville, Cincinnati, St. Louis, New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Royal Princess
Princess Cruises announced that on their newest ship, the Royal Princess coming in 2013, the spa will be relocated and expanded. The spa will be located just off of the main atrium and offer the largest thermal suite in any Princess fleet. In the suite cruisers can try out water beds or stone beds as well as sensory showers. Also released this week is information on their Fitness offerings in Sports Central. The Royal Princess will have a portable batting cage, a laser shooting range and a new take on a jogging track with outdoor exercise stations. There will also be a court for basketball, tennis, volleyball and badminton. Click for more on the Royal Princess cruise ship.
