If you plan on taking a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2014, you should know Royal Caribbean European itineraries have been reduced. In 2012, twelve of Royal Caribbean’s 22 ships were making European voyages, and that number dropped to nine for 2013. The company will further reduce its European fleet to eight for the 2014 cruise season. Booking has already begun for the 2014 cruise season, and Royal Caribbean’s European itineraries include voyages to Northern Europe and to the Mediterranean.
The ships traveling to Northern Europe include the Independence of the Seas, the Adventure of the Seas, the Brilliance of the Seas, and the Legend of the Seas. If you want to tour the Spanish, French, and Italian rivieras, you’ll want to look into the itineraries offered for the Independence of the Seas. The ship will sail out of Southampton, and itineraries include stops at destinations like Cannes, Barcelona, Lisbon, Bruges, and Le Havre. The ship has 12- and 14-night itineraries available. The Adventure of the Seas will be offering 12- to 16-night cruises, also leaving out of Southampton. The ship will make Baltic, Iceland and Norway stops, in addition to some Mediterranean destinations. Expect to stop at destinations like Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Reykjavik.
The Brilliance of the Seas will leave from Harwich and will offer Scandinavian and Russian cruises. Book a 12- or 13-night cruise with stops at destinations including Stockholm, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, and Gothenburg. Finally, the Legend of the seas is set to sail out of Copenhagen and Stockholm. These 7- and 8-night Norwegian and Baltic cruises feature ports of call such as Flam, Alesund, Geiranger, Bergen, Helsinki, Tallinn, and St. Petersburg.
The Mediterranean cruise ships are the Liberty of the Seas, the Navigator of the Seas, the Serenade of the Seas, and the Splendor of the Seas. Board the Liberty of the Seas for a 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise leaving from beautiful Barcelona. You’ll stop at destinations like Provence, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, and Naples. The Navigator of the Seas will sail out of Civitavecchia. Take weeklong round-trip cruises to Eastern Mediterranean destinations like Messina, Piraeus, Kusadasi, and Crete.
Leave from either Barcelona or Venice aboard the Serenade of the Seas for a 12-night Mediterranean Venice cruise or a 10-night Greek Isles cruise. The Mediterranean Venice cruise will bring you to Cannes, Florence, Naples, and Ravenna. On the Greek Isles cruise, explore Crete, Mykonos, Santorini, and Katakolon. Finally, you can leave for a 7-night Greek Isles and Turkey Cruise aboard the Splendour of the Seas.
