All aboard! Disney is getting ready to open its new ride, The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, on May 28th. This ride is the final piece of Disney’s expansion of Fantasyland that started in 2010. Like with everything Disney does, they’ve pulled out all the stops with this one.
Highlights
This train isn’t just an ordinary roller coaster. It’s made family-style which means that it’s suitable for most family members. It features a storytelling experience so that it can really engage the participants throughout the entire ride. There are bound to be long lines for this ride, but Disney has designed this ride with that in mind. As guests are waiting in line they can play with a musical fountain, spin lighted barrels or play video games.
The Ride
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train offers riders a pretty smooth ride in spite of the fact that it is a rollercoaster. It’s fast, but there’s not much jerkiness or shakiness as there are with some of the other rides found in The Magic Kingdom. After the riders are seated the coaster will go down the track for around 20 seconds and then into a gem filled cave. Dopey is the first one visible and then the other dwarfs are seen working hard digging for gems. Doc encourages the riders to sing the song “Heigh-Ho” with him. Riders then continue on down the track and get to see things like the Seven Dwarf’s cabin, Snow White and the evil Queen.
Other Things To Know
Guests need to be 38 inches or taller to ride this ride. Anyone under 7 years old must be accompanied by someone aged 14 years or older. At the musical fountain guests make music by putting their hands in water so those who participate will get wet, although it should be minimal.
Are you ready to book a trip to the Magic Kingdom so that you can go on The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? While you are in Fantasyland be sure to check out the other parts of the expansion including, Pixie Hollow and The Barnstormer Featuring The Great Goofini. Currently you can get some great deals on Disney Tickets and hotels. Through June 14, 2014, Disney is offering parties that consist of at least 6 people a free day when they each purchase a Magic Your Way ticket that is 4 days or longer. Travelers can also save at least 30% when they stay 5 nights or more at select Disney hotels. If you have been thinking about taking a trip to any of the Disney theme parks, the summer is a great time to go! Due to the popularity of this offer, longer wait times at the Disney Reservation Center are possible – especially during weekdays (Monday-Friday) and during normal business hours. As your full service travel agency we would be happy to provide you with assistance on a variety of Disney reservation needs including on-site hotel stays and park passes.
