Napa Valley & Sonoma October Wine Harvest Events

It’s harvest time in the Napa Valley/Sonoma area. With that comes a lot of great events. It’s impossible to list them all, but we’ve highlighted our top 5 picks of events occurring during the month of October in this region.

2014 Harvest Party, Somerston Estate
On Saturday, October 4th, Somerston Estate will be hosting their annual harvest party. They will be showcasing a lobster feed right in their vineyards. Participants can tour some of the 1,600 acre property and taste a couple of their newest releases. The event will be taking place from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $80 for club members and $95 for those that aren’t members.

Harvest Party, Silverado Vineyards
Individuals will have the chance to chat with those that make the wine at Silverado Vineyards at their harvest party on October 18th. They can also sample some of the current releases and they can enjoy a late lunch with food from Villa Corona. There will also be live music in the redesigned wine club member’s lounge. This event will take place from 3-5 p.m. and tickets are $50 for club members and $75 for the general public.

Harvest Party and Grape Stomp, Benessere Vineyards
A grape stomp is the perfect way to get into the harvest season. Benessere Vineyards will be hosting their annual grape stomp and harvest party on Sunday, October 5th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The afternoon will be filled with games, food and of course, great wine! Tickets cost $40 each. Wine club members will receive two complimentary tickets to this event.

Celebrate Harvest 2014, Markham Vineyards
Markham Vineyards Celebrate Harvest 2014 is one of the classiest harvest events taking place in October. The president of Markham Vineyards, Bryan del Bondio as well as winemaker, Kimberlee Nicholls, will be in attendance. Guests will get to enjoy a wine reception, a photography exhibit of the latest works of Baron Wolman, as well as a three course dinner that is paired with wine from Markham Vineyards. There will be live music and dancing as well. Tickets for club members are $100 each and $115 for non-club members.

BBQ & Blues Harvest Celebration, Holman Cellars
This event is an intimate celebration and tickets are only available for 100 people. There will be a grape stomp, games, blues music and food from Smoke Open Fired Grill as well as plenty of wine on hand to sample. This event is taking place on Saturday, October 18th from 3-6 p.m. Tickets are $60 for club members and $80 for non-members.

If you are looking for something to do this month besides the traditional fall festivals, then one of these events may be just for you. Even if you aren’t a wine lover, you may become one after attending one of these harvest celebrations.
