Dancen in Chicago
This isn’t your typical pub or bar. It has a Korean flare that keeps patrons coming back. It only has about seven small tables, but that doesn’t matter since most people would rather sit at the bar anyways. The food consists of traditional korean items as well as dishes that are for the more adventurous eaters like small and large intestines. As far as liquor goes, there’s plenty of it, but make sure you drink conservatively as a lot has 19% alcohol in it.

La Kiva in Terlingua
Ghost lovers tend to frequent La Kiva. It’s located in a cave in a ghost town. Besides the location, what really makes it unique is the décor with bones adorning much of it. A favorite drink among visitors is called the Eraser. It contains a lot of vodka and Kahlua with a little club soda.

Pravda in Manhattan
The outside of Pravda doesn’t look like much, but once you step inside you will think that you have left New York and stepped into Russia. It’s actually underground and only has dim lighting to illuminate the place. The environment is classy with the waitresses dressed in black serving delectable dishes like Caviar. There’s plenty of alcohol to go around as well which manly consists of a huge selection of vodka.

Saloon in Somerville
The Saloon in Somerville can be difficult to find as there’s no sign, but once you’ve been there you definitely won’t forget how to get back. It serves classic comfort foods as well a variety of cocktails. It’s a welcome refuge from the hustle and bustle of nearby Boston.

Hi Dive in San Francisco
If you are looking for a place to go in San Francisco to watch a game while having a reasonably priced drink then this is it. They are open for both lunch and dinner. The day crowd usually consists of tourists or locals just wanting to get a bite to eat, but at night the atmosphere totally changes. The drinks flow freely and a little rowdiness tends to ensue.

If you want to try to find a pub or bar that has good food and even better liquor, it’s best to ask a local. A lot of the time they will know some of the more popular places that you simply can’t find by looking online or checking the phone book. Don’t let the appearance of these places fool you as they often times are filled with a lot of great food, liquor and fun!
