Recently Nintendo has partnered with Universal. This may mean some changes for Universal Orlando that many visitors may be excited about. Here’s what we know about the partnership so far.
Nintendo Partners with Universal Studios – How It Happened
Executives at NBC Universal proposed the idea of a partnership to Nintendo in April 2014. The proposal was very thorough and discussed things like theme park attractions and well as other ideas. It took a while for Nintendo to warm up to the idea, but they gained more confidence in the possibility of developing a partnership after Universal opened up the Wizarding World of Harry Potter ride. The timing of it allowed Nintendo to see how Universal would pull off building a ride that was so highly anticipated. Still, it took several more meetings both in the U.S. and Japan for Nintendo game producers to determine that forming a partnership with Universal would be beneficial for everyone involved.
Nintendo Partners with Universal Studios – Coming Attractions
For now, both Nintendo and Universal are being pretty quiet about what this partnership will entail. Many are speculating rides like Mario Kart go-karts will be part of the future attractions at Universal. Since the Nintendo company has created numerous games, there’s no doubt that the possibilities of what attractions they will come to an agreement to having built at Universal will be numerous. Other fans suggested 3D Worlds of Mario, Legend of Zelda & Pokemon rides.
This partnership comes on the heels of Universal announcing a new King Kong inspired ride coming to Universal Studios next year. Universal Orlando is gaining even more popularity with the new addition of rides and they hope to draw even more visitors. In the past, Islands of Adventure had seen a decrease of visitors in several years ago so new attractions became necessary in order for it to remain a popular destinations for tourists in the Orlando area.
