There are about 3,000 wineries in the state of California. If you are a wine lover then this is the place for you. Not only are these wineries known for their wines, but their amazing grounds. Here are some of the 5 most stunning wineries in California.

  • Briar Rose Winery, Temecula Valley

This lovely winery opened in 2007. The grounds of Briar Rose Winery contain a lush landscape and fairytale like cottages. There are also plenty of roses scattered about this property to take in while enjoying one of the winery’s artisan wines. Briar Rose is open Tuesday- Sunday and reservations are required.

  • Castello di Amorosa, Calistoga

This winery is grand in appearance and took 15 years to build. Castello di Amorosa is actually a 107 room castle that offers stunning scenery. They are very welcoming to visitors and have a variety of tours available throughout the week. ( Is the vineyard pictured)

  • Chateau Montelana Winery, Calistoga

This is another one of Calistoga’s castle looking wineries. Chateau Montelena is located on the hillside and features a lake, Chinese garden and a bocce court. There are both tours and tastings where visitors can sample wines like Chardonnay and Zinfandel.

  • Ledson Winery and Vineyards, Kenwood

This winery is known as “The Castle”. It’s 16,000 square feet and was first built to be the family home of the Ledson family. However, it was later turned exclusively into a winery. It features marble fireplaces, mosaics and grand staircases. In addition to all of this there are oak trees on the property that are at least 100 years old and picnic areas where visitors can relax at. Ledson Winery is open to the public daily. (Such amazing wines! This is one of our favorites – we loved it so much we joined their wine club!)

  • Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden, Paso Robles

This winery is not only filled with wine, but art as well. In the tasting room there are quite a few art pieces including paintings and sculptures. Visitors can enjoy some of the winery’s signature wines like Viognier and Pinot Noir. On their grounds visitors will find that it looks sort of like a piece of art work, in and of itself, with the many paths, ironwork and pistachio trees. Sculpterra Winery is open daily to the public.
