If you’re a frequent flyer you can probably appreciate an app that will make your time in the skies or waiting for a flight more enjoyable. Thanks to technology there are several apps that will do just that. Here are some of the most useful airline related apps that we recommend trying out this year.

Seateroo For Seat Swapping
Every tried to switch your airline seat with no luck? Then you will appreciate this app. Seateroo lets travelers post their airline seat on the app so other travelers can switch seats with them, for a price. The minimum selling price is $5 and for most flights seats can be placed on the app to sell up to five days before the actual flight. If you’re unhappy with your seat there is no guarantee that you will be able to switch with someone, but you might have better lucky using this app than you would trying to call the airline to get a better seat.

LoungeBuddy Airport Lounge Finder
Most of us have had some time to kill while at the airport. LoungeBuddy helps passengers find an airport lounge no matter where in the world they are at. All they have to do is input some of their trip details and the app will list airport lounges nearby. They can also search for amenities and read reviews from other travelers. Talk about one useful app!

GateGuru’s Layover Planner
This app allows travelers to find virtually anything they are looking for at 98 different airports in the U.S. and 25 international airports. Everything from an ATM, coffee or eatery can be found using this app. And one of the best things about it? It’s free!

WorldMate Flight Assistant
If you need a travel assistant, then look no further. To get started all you have to do is forward everything involving your trip, from your flight to your hotel, to the app and it will create a personalized itinerary. It also gives you your flight status, a weather forecast and a currency converter. There are so many great features that you just might find that you do not need an actual human personal assistant to help you with all of your travel details.

Flying has never been so easy thanks to these apps. If you find yourself stuck in an airport or just wanting to switch seats with someone, there’s an app to help you along the way.
