September 11 is Grandparents Day. It’s a good time to plan a trip for the little ones and Grandma and Grandpa to take a trip together. Here are some vacation ideas for grandparents to enjoy with their grandchildren.

Myrtle Beach
This kid friendly area has a wealth of things to do. There are many water related activities including kayaking and boating. There’s a boardwalk located on the beachfront that features arcades and restaurants. The Family Kingdom Amusement Park is a great place to take the kids as well. For those that are adventurous there’s Soar + Explore that features zip line courses. WonderWorks is a great place to go where kids and grandparents can experience a whole host of hands-on activities together.

Disney
Even if rollercoasters and crowds aren’t your thing, Disney is still a great place to take grandkids. It doesn’t matter if it’s Disney World or Disney Land, there’s so much to do at whatever park you choose. You can take in a show, watch the parade, do a bit of shopping and of course, go on some rides. While it can be pricey, opt for a 2, 3 or 7-day admission ticket as it will allow you to save some money.

Central Park
If you live in or around New York City, Central Park is a great place to take the little ones. You can find everything from a children’s zoo to a carousel. You can even go on a boat ride on the lake or watch the “Woods and the Water Exhibit”. Don’t forget to bring lunch or grab a snack at one of the local vendors and sit and have a picnic lunch. There are also numerous kid friendly events that take place throughout the week.

National Parks
Like to be outside with your grandkids? Check out one of the many national parks located throughout the country. Here you will find things to do like ride a horse, go on a hike, take part in a guided tour or even go camping. The majority of the parks have kid friendly activities and many of the park’s staff will be more than happy to help you figure out what activities you and your grandchildren will enjoy while at the park.

With Grandparents Day is just a few weeks away, now is the time to plan a trip. Not a grandparent yet? Plan a trip for a special grandmother or grandfather you know. The memories that they take away from the trip will be priceless!
