The warmer weather and longer days of summer make it a great time to visit a festival. In the meantime, even if you are traveling around the world you can still hit a up a festival or two. Here are some of the best ones to visit.

Hay Festival, Hay-on-Wye, May 25-June 5

Poets, artists and writers will certainly love this festival that’s coming to Wales soon. However, attendees can listen to poetry readings and lectures. Among the events will be artist Tracey Emin reading Letters Live.

Melt, Grafenhainichen, July 14-16

Many people flock to Germany for this two day event. It’s considered to be a big party and is conveniently located between Berlin and Leipzig. It mostly features techno music. Artists this year include Warpaint.

Best Kept Secret, Hilvarenbeek, June 16-18

Located in the Netherlands, this event is one of the area’s biggest rock and alternative music festivals. Festival goers can stay in anything from cottages to pre-pitched campsites. Despite the fact that there is only a 30,000 capacity, some big names will be at the event this year, including Radiohead.

Roskilde, Denmark, June 24-July 1

This hardcore music festival in one of the biggest events to occur in Europe each year. As a matter of fact, the event is pretty much non-stop with artists like The Weeknd taking the stage without much of a break in between each act. Located in the outer fields is street art. Here is where a lot of people go to party hard.

Pitchfork Music Festival, Chicago, July 14-16

You don’t have to leave the United States to enjoy a good music festival this summer. Pitchfork is returning to Chicago for its 12th year. There will be a variety of artists taking the stage including Solange and A Tribe Called Quest.

Port Eliot, Cornwall, July 27-30

This is one of the UK’s most unique festivals. Located at an impressive stately home, attendees actually get to explore the house, take workshops and even swim in the pool. However, there is also some alternative bands that will be playing, which include Hooten Tennis Club.

Fujirock, Naeba Ski Resort, July 28-30

This is Japan’s largest music festival. It will feature a variety of musical genres including hip-hop and electronica. In other words, big acts this year include Bjork and Gorillaz.

End Of The Road, Dorset, August 31- September 3

As summer is starting to come to an end in the UK, this indie festival starts. On the other hand, End Of The Road will be taking place in Larmer Tree Gardens. The lineup includes Lucinda Williams and Father John Misty.
