Sky Pools Around the World

Almost everyone has been in a pool at some point in their lives. From zero entry pools to even salt water pools, the sky’s the limit when it comes to pools….Literally… There are several pools around the world that definitely aren’t for those that are afraid of heights or want some privacy while they take a swim.

Embassy Gardens At Nine Elms In London

How do you feel about a pool that’s suspended 115 feet in the air? Located in London, this sky pool is expected to be completed in 2019. It will be part of the Embassy Gardens at Nine Elms second phase. It will be located about ten floors up between two, ten story towers. Swimmers will be able to literally swim back and forth from one building to another and can see the road down below because the bottom is transparent. The pool is expected to be 25 meters so there will be plenty of room for swimmers to splash around and swim without it feeling too crowded. The new development includes not only the sky pool but 179 suites that will offer guests 1, 2 or 3 bedroom accommodations as well as penthouses. To enjoy the sky pool you will probably have to shell out well over $600,000 to buy one of the residences on the property so you can enjoy the amenities unless you are lucky enough to have a friend or family member that lives there and is willing to invite you over for a swim.

Market Square Tower In Houston

This sky pool is located on the 42nd floor of this apartment complex, with the street being 500 feet below. It has 8 inches of plexiglass to hold both the water and swimmers in. This pool extends out 10 feet beyond the building. If you are afraid of heights, or just have no desire to risk your life, you can swim in other parts of the pool that are safely on top of the building. You don’t have to buy a pricey apartment to enjoy this experience as rent for apartments in this building start at around $1,800 a month.

The American Cooper Building In New York

Some lucky New Yorkers don’t have to leave the city to swim in a sky pool. This pool, located at The American Cooper Building, is actually suspended in between two towers and is around 300 feet above the ground. While in the pool, swimmers will be able to see the Empire State Building. The actual apartment building will be 49 stories and have 761 residences that can be rented. These range from studios to three bedroom apartments. Rent starts at around $3,200.
