Construction on new Hapag Lloyd Hanseatic Inspiration expedition ship has begun with the laying of the keel. Unlike it’s sister ship, the Hanseatic Nature, this ship will speak both German and English. It’s expected to launch sometime in October 2019. This is what we can expect from this new ship.
The Ship
Unlike other ships, this one will be fairly small. It will have the capacity to carry 230 passengers, but on voyages to Antarctica, it will only carry 199 passengers maximum. The small size of the ship will allow it to easily maneuver about no matter where it’s going. There passenger to space ratio is very generous so travelers will never feel crowded while they are on the ship. The Inspiration will have a design where it’s retractable bridge wing will allow it to be able to pass through locks that are narrow in size. The bow will allow guests to stand on it and look out at the water. Guests can also use the telescopes on the Observation Deck to take a peek at what’s around them.
The Cabins
Travelers can choose from a variety of cabins and suites. Each of them will have natural colors which will add to the harmonious vibe. Those who choose a Grand Suite will get to enjoy a private veranda. Many ocean view cabins and suites will have a balcony or French balcony. Beds will be separable and each cabin or suite will have a heated wall in bathroom and room amenities such as Nordic Walking poles and binoculars.
The Restaurants
Despite the fact that this is a small ship, there will still be several dining options. Among the three onboard restaurants, there will be one that features a glass deck that allows travelers to look directly into the water. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available at the bistro restaurant so that travelers can enjoy the sights if the weather is good.
The Amenities
One of the best things about this ship is that travelers will feel as if they have total freedom to do whatever they want, when they want to. The ship will have a large spa to enjoy a treatment or two. The pool area will have a bar where travelers can grab a drink after a relaxing swim. There will be a marina where those that want to be active can enjoy kayaking or stand-up paddling. In addition to all this lecturers and classes will also be offered at various times throughout the journey.
