How to Listen to Music Offline

While you are traveling your internet connection may not always be reliable. This doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy some music no matter where you are. There are several ways you can listen to your favorite music offline when you are traveling.

  • Cache It
Caching your music if actually fairly easy. A lot of streaming apps like Spotify, allow you to put together playlists and cache them to listen to later. This allows you to listen to all of your favorite tracks even if you don’t have an internet connection.
  • Use An App
Once downloaded, some music apps can be used with no internet connection. Evermusic allows you to download songs and once you are ready to listen to them, all you have to do is open the app to find them. The Musify app is similar and even allows users to shuffle songs and create a playlist. Sound Weaver lets users store not only songs from Soundcloud and Dropbox, but music videos from Youtube that they can watch as well. Of course there is also the ever popular Google Play music that gives access to millions of songs.
  • Download Prime Music
If you are an Amazon Prime member then you can easily listen to music without an internet connection. First you will need to download the music titles you’d like to listen to onto compatible devices. These devices include Fire tablets and Android and Apple phones. Once you download the music you will click on the Amazon Music App and go to “My Music” to find the songs that you have downloaded. If you don’t have an internet connection, it’s best to go to “Settings” and turn on the offline music mode so that only music that has already been downloaded is shown. One of the biggest perks to using the Prime Music app is that there’s no limit as to how many songs you can download.
  • Use Pandora
This is such a great app that we had to give it it’s own category. Once you download this app you can find a huge collection of music to listen to that doesn’t require an internet connection. Users can find both newer hits as wells as oldies. A favorite feature among users is that they can use the app to create their very own radio station that plays similar songs. Travelers interested in using this app can download the free version that comes with ads or pay around $10 a month to enjoy their music ad free.

Another great way to pass the time is to play games.  Check out our posts on Best Iphone Games for Airplane Mode and Playing Nintendo Switch on an Airplane.
