There are all sorts of bars that you can visit, but how many of them are tailored just around beer? Beer gardens are for those that enjoy beer and a lot of it. These are some of the best beer gardens around the world.
Hofbrauhaus and Hirschgarten, Munich
There are two popular beer gardens in Munich: Hofbrauhaus and Hirschgarten. Hofbrauhaus may be the most famous beer garden in the world. It opened in 1592 and can hold up to 1,300 visitors. It features massive wooden tables and Bavarian bands playing on the central stage. During the summer months they also open up an outdoor garden area that can seat an additional 400 patrons, to accommodate the extra tourists. If you are thirsty while you are in Munich, make sure you head over here to enjoy a massive mug of the local brew. Munich is also home to Hirschgarten. It’s located alongside of a park that’s close to 100 years old. This is where the locals hang out. Upon arrival, patrons are given mugs that they need to clean and will also need to get their own refills out of barrels. You can bring your own food in, but there is also a variety of German fare available for purchase that will pair perfectly with that mug of beer. The most popular time to visit Germany of course is during Oktoberfest. Contiki Oktoberfest 2019 is the most popular package for 18 to 35 year olds.
Bohemia Hall and Beer Garden, Manhattan
You don’t need to leave the United States in order to experience an awesome beer garden. Located right in Manhattan, this beer garden features picnic tables and tents. Quite often there is live entertainment of some sort. In addition to the beer garden there is an indoor hall, but it is by far more fun to sit outdoors while enjoying a glass of Staropramen lager and a plate of potato pancakes. Bohemia Hall and Beer Garden can get busy, especially in the evenings, but there does tend to be enough seating to accommodate everyone.
Letna Beer Garden, Prague
This beer garden has quite the scenic view. It’s located right on top of Letenske Park which allows for amazing views of both the Old City and the Vltava River. The unique location gives you the opportunity to easily explore the area before or after you’ve indulged in a few beers. There are numerous picnic tables at the beer garden that are shaded by trees to keep you cool in the stifling summer months. In addition to beer, patrons can also purchase both red and white wine or even pizza from the onsite restaurant.
