Carnival Cruise Line is the First to Produce Their Own Beer

If you’ve cruised on Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista, or the brand new Carnival Panorama cruise ship, you probably already know that Carnival was the first cruise line to have a brewery at sea. Now, Carnival Cruise Line has gone one step further and became the first cruise line to produce their own beer for mass production.

At an event back in March at Port Miami aboard the Carnival Magic, the pioneering cruise line recently announced its partnership with Brew Hub to be the first cruise line to can and keg its own private label beers. The beers are made by Carnival’s in-house breweries onboard the Horizon and Vista cruise ships. Carnival and Brew Hub plan to mass produce three of its much-loved craft brews already found aboard some of its ships. The beers will be available in four-packs of 16 ounce cans for guests to purchase as a keepsake or consume as desired.  The beers will be available across all of Carnival’s 26 cruise ships.

Carnival’s private label craft beers are produced under the ParchedPig brand. North America’s first brew master at sea is Colin Presby, who serves up the suds found aboard several newer Carnival cruise ships already.

Carnival’s Craft Beer Lineup

Carnival Cruise Line and Brew Hub will can and keg three varieties of its popular craft beers across all of its cruise ships.

ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat
ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat is an unfiltered wheat beer, infused with notes of orange and spices. The 4.8 percent ABV craft beer is smooth and refreshing, making it the perfect beer for a warm day.

ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale
The rich amber color of the ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale is accentuated with notes of toasted caramel and biscuit, making this highly drinkable beer a favorite among Carnival cruise go-ers.  The Toasted Amber Ale is sweet and smooth and has a 5 percent ABV.

ParchedPig West Coast IPA
The ParchedPig West Coast IPA packs a punch at 6.2 percent ABV. The bitterness from this intense, hoppy India Pale Ale are balanced by its bright notes of citrus and pine.

While Carnival is beginning its beer production roll-out with three varieties of beer, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more varieties of craft beers added to the cruise line’s lineup in the future.  Stay tuned!
