CLIA has presented an industry-wide restart plan for cruising from homeports to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Some of the protocols you can expect are as follows:

  • 100% testing of all guests and crew
  • Mask wearing policies in designated venues and public places onboard the ships and during shore excursions
  • Enhanced medical staffing facilities including equipment and quarantine resources
  • Shore excursions limited to providers chosen by cruise lines and denied boarding to guests who do not abide

Carnival Cruises Booking Terms – Carnival Cruises COVID Cancellation Options:

Book Carnival Cruises 2021, 2022, and through April 2023, and get a full refund as long as you cancel prior to the final payment deadline. There are some restrictive fares to watch out for. On a non-refundable fare, your deposit would be lost. With Early Saver fares, the money will be refunded in the form of a cruise credit to be used within 2 years, less a service fee of $50 per person. If you accept a future cruise credit in place of a refund, Carnival will add an onboard credit to your next cruise reservation.

Royal Caribbean Cruise COVID Cancellation Options – Royal Caribbean Book With Confidence Policy:

Royal Caribbean Cruises book with confidence policy allows travelers to cancel up to 48 hours before sailing and receive a future cruise credit to sail by December 31, 2021 or 12 months after than date of cancellation, as long as the cruise sets sail by April 30, 2022. Royal Caribbean’s “Best Price Guarantee” allows a non-refundable onboard credit if you find a lower price before you sail. The Lift and Shift policy allows guests to move their existing booking to the following year with price protection, as long as the new booking is made before November 30, 2020. Norwegian Cruise Lines Peace of Mind with Safety and Flexibility:

NCL flexible booking policy depends on when your cruise departs. For cruises through December 31 travelers can cancel up to 60 days prior to sailing for a full refund or cancel up to 48 hours prior to the cruise get a Future Cruise Credit.

For cruises January 1 – March 31, 2021: Cancel up to 60 days prior for a full refund or cancel up to 15 days prior to sailing for a Future Cruise Credit.

For cruises April 1 – October 31, 2021: Cancel up to 120 days prior to sailing for a full refund or cancel up to 15 days prior and receive a Future Cruise Credit.

For now, cruises after November 1, 2021, would go back to NCL’s regular booking policies which is to cancel prior to final payment for a full refund. No offer of FCC, but this of course is subject to change.

Celebrity Cruise Book with Confidence policy:

With Celebrity Cruises, you have up to 48 hours before you sail to cancel and receive 100% Future Cruise Credit to use toward any sailing through May 4, 2022. You can also move a reservation to the following year. They call this “Lift & Shift.” Want to take the same cruise the following year for the same price and with the same promotion? You can. Celebrity Cruises will honor your original cruise fare price and promotion when selecting an alternate sailing of the same itinerary type, ship series, cruise length, and stateroom category within 4 weeks of the original sail date. Simply make this change by November 30, 2020.

You can change your promotion as many times as you want up to 48 hours before sailing. Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises, Cruise with Confidence has changed the final payment date for cruises to 60 days before departure. Cancel up to 30 days before sailing and receive a future cruise credit or a refund. Princess Cruises is one of a handful of cruise lines that offers cancel for any reason travel protection as an option as well.

Holland America Cruise

Holland America Cruise with Confidence allows 100% money back for cruise cancellations up to 91 days before departure. No refund is available if the cancellation is 21 days or less before departure. Effective fall of 2021 no refund is available 30 days or less before travel.

Crystal Cruises Confidence 2.0 offers closer in final payments and relaxed cancellation schedules with Peace of Mind policies. Enjoy a 30 day window to make your deposit of just 15% of the cruise fare and a 60-day final payment policy. If cancellation is 7 days or less before sailing a 100% penalty applies. For new and existing bookings on select departures from January – April 2021 on the Symphony and Serenity, Crystal offers the opportunity to cancel for a full refund within 7 days of sailing.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises Reassurance Policy is for all existing and new reservations made by October 31,2020 with a sail date of on or before October 31, 2021. Guests who have paid in full have the option to cancel 15 days prior to departure date to receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit for any new reservation made within one year before December 31, 2022.

Silversea Cruises, Cruise with Confidence allows guests to cancel bookings up to 48 hours prior to sailing and receive a 100% future cruise credit valid for 2 years from the cancellation date.

Seabourn Cruises Book with Confidence policy offers peace of mind when your cruise is booked by November 20, 2020 knowing you can cancel for any reason and receive a 100% future cruise credit plus “Best Fare’ guarantee if you sail by December 31,2021. If you find a better fare, Seabourn will reimburse with shipboard credit, suite upgrades, future cruise credit or fare reduction.
