The Globus Family of Brands has officially joined 45 other tourism partners to fight plastics pollution. The Global Tourism Plastics Initiative was created to unite the tourism sector behind a common vision to address the causes of plastic pollution.
This new partnership is part of a broader commitment to sustainable travel practices. Globus feels the need to protect the people and places they visit and cherish around the world. Their sustainable travel commitment is being taken to new heights every year. Another part of Globus’s sustainability effort was to renew its partnership with The Ocean Cleanup, which is a non-profit organization focused on ridding the world’s waterways of plastics. The Ocean Cleanup has expanded cleanup efforts beyond the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, located between Hawaii and California, to include the source of the problem, which is the world’s rivers. To achieve this objective, they are working on a combination of closing the source and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean. This organization recently started selling Sunglasses & other products from the recycled plastic recovered from the ocean clean up. All proceeds go towards the continuation of their efforts.
One of Globus’ statements on their website is “Caring for the places we’re sharing with you.” The Globus Family of Brands is dedicated to making a difference across the globe with Economic, Environmental & Social Initiatives:
