Virgin Voyages is giving away 1000 voyages in the name of love for Valentine’s Day. If the past year has taught us anything, it’s how grateful we are for the loved ones in our lives. Virgin Voyages is taking the opportunity to celebrate the people who keep love alive – essential workers, delivery people, grocery store associates, first responders, teachers, friends and family. They are the ones who never stop giving. Virgin Voyages extends a heartfelt shout to frontline heroes making it possible to begin to slowly semblance normalcy.

Virgin Voyages COVID update
Virgin Voyages Cruises has established a new wave of health measures before they set sail. Traveling worry-free is what everyone wants right now and Virgin Voyages centers around making sure that is what you can expect. They have a “Voyage Well Expert Advisory Group to review and guide their decisions. The team is helping develop enhanced protocols and health screenings, implement new technologies onboard and guide an approach to quick and effective COVID-19 testing. The team is composed of AtmosAir, EcoLab, Dr. Heymann at Vikand, Global Public Health Services and close collaboration with the CDC.
Their focus includes:
- Work with medical testing developers to find a reliable, quick and simple test, that will ensure only those who test negative are allowed to board.
- Notify sailors and crew 14 days after leaving the ship if they have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for the virus on land or at sea.
- Before they set sail there will be frequent pre-boarding health checks and screenings for crew and guests.
- Thermal Camera technology will be installed in terminals and on board to monitor crew and guest temperatures.
Final payment dates will now be 60 days before sailing and cancellation up to 48 hours with a 100% Future Voyage Credit.
On the ship they have adopted advance cleaning tools like fogging and UV technology, which is the same Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation method used in hospitals and laboratories. Luggage will be fogged down and cabins will be fogged.
There will be sanitizing dispensers in every public space, touch-less faucets, increased hygiene signage and hospital grade EPA registered disinfectants.
Personal space will be reduced for social distancing and there will be no buffets or large dining rooms. Food is only prepared when ordered and delivered directly to the guest.
At destinations activities on land will have the same social distancing requirements as onboard.
