Bermuda is open and welcoming visitors back to the island. Bermuda is a unique tropical-island paradise located in a remote corner of the western Atlantic Ocean. It is a peaceful vacation spot nestled in a sparkling blue-green sea.

Planning a trip to Bermuda is a bit different at this time, so we wanted to share what you can expect. Please note, if you do decide to travel to Bermuda, the CDC recommends getting tested before and after your trip, wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing and avoiding crowds, and washing or sanitizing your hands frequently.

Bermuda Travel Requirements

Before leaving for your trip to Bermuda
  • Bermuda Travel Authorization – One to three days before departure, travelers must complete this online which gathers important information for the island’s health and immigration officials. A $75 fee per traveler is required, which includes the cost of COVID-19 testing in Bermuda. Master Card and Visa are accepted. Each passenger must complete the form and pay the fee regardless of age. Children 9 years and younger do not have to be tested so their fee is $30 each.
  • Negative PCR COVID-19 Test – Visitors age 10 and up must take a PCR COVID-19 test and obtain a negative result no more than five days before arrival. These results need to be uploaded when completing the Bermuda Travel authorization. Children nine years old and younger are exempt and subject to their adult travel companion’s quarantine.
  • Travel Insurance is Strongly Recommended – if the traveler becomes ill and does not have insurance they will be responsible for all health and accommodation costs if they require any medical treatment or quarantine.
  • Pack a thermometer – you will be asked to take your temperature daily and report via an online portal

Upon arriving to Bermuda

  • PCR COVID-19 Test Upon Arriving at Airport
Visitors age 10 and up will undergo PCR COVID-19 testing again upon arrival at Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport and quarantine at their accommodation until results are ready in about 24 hours.
  • Additional testing is required on day 4, day 8, and day 14 of your stay if applicable.
  • Wear face masks and practice social distancing at the airport

Please note vaccinated passengers once tested at the airport can proceed to their hotel and enjoy all amenities while awaiting their test results which is typcially less than 24 hours. Non-immunized Travelers will wear a wristband for the first 14 days of their stay.

On Island Experience

  • Wear a face mask and practice social distancing in all public spaces.
  • Take your own temperature and report via the online application portal twice daily
  • Take a COVID-19 test, administered on Day 4, Day 8 and Day 14 at testing centers (Perot Post Office, City of Hamilton Mon–Sat; Southside, St. David’s Sun). The location and time of each of your tests will automatically be booked for you, so please do not arrange separate appointments. You will receive email reminders 24 hours before each test.

Due to the latest CDC requirements, Americans will need to possess proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of departure in order to gain re-entry into the U.S. after their trip. This requirement is usually met since Bermuda has the extra testing on days 4, 8 and 14, but check to make sure the test is 72 hours before your flight. Please to if you have a 1 pm flight but test 3 days prior at 11 am then it’s 74 hours and will not count so don’t go by the number of days but rather the hours being 72 or less.
