All staterooms are fitted with keyless cabin entry technology that uses digital keys (on smartphones), as well as standard keycards and RFID bands. Also this week, Disney Cruise Line will unveil never-before-released details of the new Disney Wish cruise ship. The grand unveiling, Once Upon a Disney Wish, takes place on Thursday, April 29 at 11 a.m. ET, and you can tune in on the Disney Parks Blog. Here’s a little more about what you can expect, including a glimpse at how we’re using the magic of technology to bring the ship to life.
This special 30-minute virtual presentation will give you a sneak peek at all of the magic that awaits, including a look behind-the-scenes with Walt Disney Imagineers and the creative team bringing the Disney Wish to life. Plus, this enchanting reveal will include special character appearances and surprise performances you won’t want to miss!
Disney says Disney Wish will be built around three major design themes: fairytale castles; forests and animals; and the spirit of the sea. At the stern, Rapunzel will be suspended over the edge, seemingly painting the ship’s aft namesake as the vessel sails along. The Wish will be the first of 3 new ships debuting by 2025. This will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas, or LNG technology.
