More and more people are traveling and if you leave home without proof of vaccination you could have trouble visiting your favorite places. Places like music venues and sports arenas have begun requiring proof of vaccine. Vaccine passport apps offer an easy solution for providing information when necessary.  The important thing to know is you probably won’t have much choice in the apps you use. Different airlines, arenas, workplaces and other public authorities are likely to require users to use a specific app.

The State of New York was among the first to put a program in place, the Excelsior Pass, a smartphone app that displays verified proof of vaccination or negative test results. To use Excelsior Pass, you’ll have to enter information at https://epass.ny.gov/.

The state of Hawaii has been testing its own app called Clear Health Pass. Delta and United Airlines accepts this pas son nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Proof of vaccination with this app will allow visitors to skip the mandatory 10-day quarantine. Several NBA arenas and MGM resorts have made this app a requirement.

In California My Vaccine Record works exactly like New York’s Excelsior Pass. You simply tab onto https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov, and enter some quick information to receive your digital Covid-19 vaccine record.

Common Pass is specifically designed for travel. Users can connect their test results and vaccination records to the app, which will compare them against individual countries COVID-related requirements. CommonHealth is a free mobile app for people to collect and manage their personal health data and share it with the health services, organizations and apps they trust. VeriFLY allows users to upload and verify health information like COVID test results. American, British and Iberia Airlines are using VeriFLY as their app of choice for flyers to prove their travel-safe health status on limited flights.

Clear is mainly known as a service that allows members to jump the security line at major airports. Health Pass by CLEAR is a free mobile experience within the CLEAR app, which securely connects a person’s verified identity to multiple layers of COVID-19 related health information to reduce public health risk. Its app now has a new feature called Health Pass. Users can store digital versions of their vaccine card for easy access when traveling, attending sporting events, or visiting businesses that require proof of a COVID-19 vaccine. The app is available on ios and Android.

VaxYes does not determine your eligibility to enter certain countries; it is essentially a digitized version of your CDC Card. It provides an alternative to carrying around your paper certificate and more secure than a photo of the original card.

Airside is a digital identity app that allows you to share your driver’s license, passport and COVID vaccination information. The purpose of this app is it is more secure and  shows faster verification that everyone can trust.
