Kissing penguins “run for a swim and catch the wave, like surfers!” Volunteer Point is home to 1,200 adult king penguins, plus several hundred chicks, the largest colony outside of South Georgia Island. Seeing king penguins up close is a rare event, but some lucky sailors got the chance on an exotic voyage to South America and Antarctica.
