The best way to explore a city is by foot. There are so many things you can see that you would miss if you were in a car, on a bus or a train. Here are some of the best places around the world to go on a walking tour.

Maui
Hawaii Tasting Tours- $179 per person
One of the best parts about Maui is the food. There’s so much of it that it can be hard to know where to go and what to try. On this tour, participants go to rocker Mick Fleetwood’s restaurant, “Fleetwood’s On Front Street” and try traditional Hawaiian dishes that are paired with exquisite wine. Hike Maui- $85 per person
This is one of the oldest walking tours in Hawaii as it started 30 years ago. Participants can visit the East Maui jungle and see the cascading falls or the impressive Haleakala Crater. Washington, DC
D.C. By Foot- Free
This free tour features licensed guides that focus on giving tours that highlight main attractions like Capitol Hill or the National Mall. They focus on all aspects of the attraction from food, to history to art. Some of the more popular tours include tracking the Lincoln assassination, or going through Georgetown and learning about some of the ghosts that supposedly haunt it.

These walking tours started in 1999. These 2 hour tours take place at a variety of locations including Lafayette Park and Embassy Row. When its cherry blossom season there are tours that take place and night where participants visit the National Cathedral and Foggy Bottom.

National Park Service Rangers Tours- Free
These tours are available at virtually every one of the major monuments in Washington D.C. as well as the National Mall. Tours take place during the day or evening and each ranger customizes their own tours so each one is a little bit different
