Choosing A Cruise Line Based On The Type Of Traveler You Are

Choosing the right cruise line isn’t something that should be taken lightly. You need to look past the price and travel dates and pick a cruise line that has your specific travel needs in mind. It can be tricky, but you can choose a cruise line based on the type of traveler you are. Here’s how.

Budget Minded Travelers

Cruises are a great option for travelers who are wanting to get a lot of bang for their buck. For those that are on a budget, promotions and special rates may be just what they are after. MSC Cruise Line consistently offers low fares and special offers. This means is that passengers can often find cabins that start as low as $40 a night, per person. Carnival Cruise line is another great option for budget cruises.

Travelers Looking To Splurge

For passengers that are wanting to splurge on their cruise, Regent Seven Seas is a great choice. This all inclusive cruise line includes things in the fare that other cruise lines don’t, including pre-cruise hotel accommodations, onboard alcohol, many shore excursions and onboard meals at their specialty restaurants. Travelers will also get to stay in suites that have either a window or a balcony. The fare price may initially shock passengers, but they really aren’t that pricey when you consider everything that you get with it.

Romantic Travelers

Are you the type of traveling that is going on a cruise with romance in mind? If so, choose a Princess cruise. Did you know that this cruise line actually owned the original Love Boat? It’s really not surprising that Princess Cruise Line caters to those with romance in mind. They have a variety of different dining choices available so passengers can enjoy a romantic evening. Another perk is their sun decks that are adults only. On a Princess cruise it’s easy to find a spot or two to escape and enjoy some alone time with your love. Celebrity Cruises are also a great option, particularly the Solstice class ships.  Royal Caribbean Quantum class ships also have great dining options and lots of areas for romantic lounging and seating areas.

Travelers With Young Children

Those with young kids have different travel needs. They need a cruise line that recognizes this and caters to even the littlest of travelers. Disney Cruise Line does this and does it well. They offer nurseries for little ones as young as three months old. There are also play spaces for children, pirate parties and princess teas. Cabins also have bathtubs, balcony locks that are childproof and room dividing curtains. That being said Royal Caribbean also has programs for small children on many of their ships.

Travelers With Teens

For those traveling with teens they know that there needs to be a lot of different activities to keep them from getting board. That’s why Royal Caribbean is a great choice. There are many different activities such as zip lines, watersports that include surfing onboard and free late-night pizza. For parents needing a little break and teens needing some alone time, there are teen clubs that have video games plus plenty of space just to hangout.

Fitness Minded Travelers

Just because you go on a cruise it doesn’t mean that you have to take a break from your fitness routine! Norwegian Cruise Line offers so much for fitness minded travelers to do. There are TRX suspension training and Zumba group classes available, indoor cycling and large gyms onboard. There are also Wii tournaments that feature a large screen and will help you get your heart rate up with a bit of friendly competition. Newer ships offer ropes courses and other

Older Travelers

Those who fall into this category tend to want a slower paced environment. They appreciate classes, guest hosts and longer sailings. Holland America fits the bill. They offer things like afternoon tea, ballroom dancing and cooking classes. Cabins are well equipped and feature many of the comforts of home. There are also a variety of different itineraries to choose from as well.
