Carnival Cruise Lines’ 113,300-ton Carnival Splendor, the line’s newest & largest “Fun Ship,” made its U.S. debut Friday, November 14, 2008, when it arrived at Port Everglades following a 16-day trans-Atlantic crossing from Europe. CARNIVAL SPLENDOR will dazzle all cruisers with a host of new features, including: staterooms with flat screen TVs, a spectacular 21,000 sqare foot, two-level spa & gym facility including a Thalassotherapy Pool, 5,500 square-foot children’s playroom & a mid-ship pool covered with a two-deck-high Sliding Sky Dome, so no need to worry about bad weather! Poolside there is a big-screen showing first-run movies, concert and sporting events. Casual dining options will include rotisserie chicken, sushi, Indian & a Mongolian Wok. The Splendor will sail the Caribbean for a few months & will also offer three South America cruises ranging from 14 to 18 nights, the first ever offered by the line. The ship will then head to its homeport of Los Angeles, offering year-round Mexican Riviera sailings beginning March 29, 2009.
