Crystal Cruises will homeport a second ship in the Caribbean this summer. The Crystal Symphony is set to sail 10-day cruises out of St. John’s, Antigua beginning August 5th and running through December. She will visit Barbados, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Maarten and the British Virgin Islands.
Charles Fernandez, the minister of tourism for Antigua and Barbuda said the movement represents a milestone in reinvigorating tourism, as well as deep support of the island communities’ economy.
With the Crystal Symphony sailing out of Antigua, the Serenity launching from the Bahamas and the Crystal Endeavor cruise ship sailing from Iceland, 97% of Crystal’s fleet will be in service this summer.
Other luxury cruise lines have recently announced sailings from outside the U.S. for vaccinated adults. Silversea Cruises 2021 will resume operations in the Greek Islands, as well as Seabourn Cruises.
