CUNARD BRINGS “A GRAND CELEBRATION” TO THE 122nd ROSE PARADE® Presented by Honda
Cunard is proud to announce its inaugural appearance in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on 1 January 2011 with its float entitled “A Grand Celebration at Sea”. Cunard’s float design brings to life the theme of the 2011 Parade – “Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories” – by depicting the special sense of occasion and grand celebration that is a part of each and every voyage aboard a Cunard ocean liner.
Conceived by famed float designer Raul Rodriguez and the award-winning team at Fiesta Parade Floats, Cunard presents the legendary, elegant and memorable experiences of sailing aboard a Cunard QUEEN, complete with champagne toasts and ballroom dancing to a big band orchestra. An eloquent fusion of floral and architectural detail, the float reaches 24 feet high, spans 18 feet wide and stretches 55 feet in length.
“Following on the success of our grand celebration at the Royal Naming Ceremony for QUEEN ELIZABETH, we are delighted to continue with a grand celebration at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade”, said Peter Shanks, President of Cunard Line. “And for Cunard, the celebration continues on 13 January when all three QUEENS meet in New York for an historic Cunard Royal Rendezvous”, added Shanks.
Tune in at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time on New Year’s Day to watch the parade (check your local listing).
