Introducing Oceania Dom Perignon Dinners

Oceania Cruises, in late 2018 began promoting a tasting menu on its two biggest ships, the Oceania Riviera and the Oceania Marina cruise ship.

Together, Oceania and Dom Perignon put together a six-course tasting menu that pairs gourmet foods with three vintage Champagnes. The Dom Perignon tasting dinner on Oceania gives the curious a chance to try three vintages – a 2009, a 2006 and a 2004 rose for $295 per person. The tasting comes in an intimate and exclusive setting: the 24-seat LaReserve restaurant. From the start, La Reserve was set up to accommodate a pairing dinner. This one begins with scallops served with roasted pineapple and a mole negro sauce, followed by Brittany blue lobster in yellow curry broth with cocoa foam.

The main courses are a black truffle risotto with aged Parmesan and seared sashimi style wagyu beef with sauteed arugula, blood orange-soya jus and caviar.

Next comes an artisanal French cheese plate, served with a black currant-pepper paste and thyme flowers.

The tasting finishes with Sakura tea a’ageisha Flower” ice cream and lemon caviar. The experience is truly memorable. The menu tried together and the champagne make it all come alive.

Silversea Cruises World Cruise 2021
Silversea Cruises has enjoyed 10 years of synergy between its luxury and expedition segments.  It has borrowed a concept from luxury cruising to introduce the first expedition world cruise.

The full cruise, which will launch in January 2021, will be a long one. It is scheduled to last 167 days, make 107 port calls and visit 30 countries.

While most world cruises are organized to avoid cold weather in the Northern Hemisphere early in the calendar year, Silversea’s expedition world cruise will launch on the Silver Cloud in Ushuaia, Argentina on January 13, 2021 and head to Antarctica.

From there, the cruise gets gradually warmer as it heads up the west coast of South America and crosses the Pacific to visit Tahiti, Fiji, Australia and Indonesia. This expedition cruise will make more frequent stops and visit smaller ports than most luxury world cruises. The Silver Cloud will visit only a handful of big cities, Singapore, Athens, Lisbon and London among them. In addition to the lengthy itinerary, the Silversea expedition team of 28 guides and special speakers will bring extra value to the cruise. Speakers include Felicity Aston, the first and only woman to cross Antarctica alone and Tim Severin, a world renowned explorer who has retraced the mythical adventures of Ulysses and Jason and the Argonauts, among others.

Special events on the cruise include a private dinner on a walkway of London’s Tower Bridge and an exclusive Viking feast in Kjarnaskkogur Forest in Iceland.

There definitely is a market for people who want incredible and authentic travel experiences and this is it.

Princess Cruises 2019 – Caribbean Princess Refurbishment

Princess Cruises will create a small waterpark on the Caribbean Princess during drydock this June. The Reef Family Splash Zone will be a kinder, gentler version of a water park, with no waterslides and a whale that drizzles rain from its flukes as the centerpiece. The Splash Zone will be built on Deck 17 beneath the ramp that leads to the Skywalkers disco at the back of the ship. A splash pool with assorted sprays and showers will be added. A Game Zone will feature oversize backyard games, comfy sectionals and a kid-friendly bar setting. For adults, there will be new patio furniture, from the single sun loungers to sectional chairs and couches with tables. Canvas canopies and breeze panels will provide protection from the sun and wind.

The Reef Family Splash Zone will be kind of secluded and quiet. Other family activities in the Splash Zone include stargazing and shark awareness programs run through Princess’s Discovery at Sea.
