New Spa Treatments and Snow Room aboard the Norwegian Escape

Recently christened in Miami, the Norwegian Escape will have the sea’s coldest attraction. After enjoying the sunny weather onboard, passengers can cool off by visiting the Snow Room. This snowy retreat not only is just plain cool to go in, but supposedly has some health benefits as well.

Frosty Fun

At between 21 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the room delivers flurries of snow throughout the day. Norwegian claims that spending time in the Snow Room will be beneficial to both the immune system and for blood circulation. The room is part of the large Mandara spa. The spa features 17 heated loungers, whirlpools, a hydrotherapy pool, salt room, steam room, samarium and dry sauna. As you can see, there are plenty of places to heat up after spending some time in the frigid temperatures of the Snow Room. In addition to all of this, the spa will offer passengers over 50 different types of treatments that include everything from hair and nail services to Botox injections, teeth whitening and acupuncture. Kids can even enjoy age appropriate services and there’s also a separate barber shop for men.

A New Generation Of Ships

This 4,200 passenger ship has no shortage of things to do to get your blood flowing. There’s a larger than life deck-top ropes course, the sea’s largest water park and a fitness center filled with everything from exercise equipment to classes like Zumba, TRX and Boxing. For those that just want to relax and don’t want to take part in any strenuous activities, they can always enjoy a show at 678 Ocean Place or grab a bite to eat at one of the three main dining options: The Manhattan Room, Savor and Taste. The ship will also be debuting Margaretville. This restaurant will feature items like Cheeseburger in Paradise. Located on Deck 7, those who want to do a little gambling can visit The Escape Casino. At over 19,000 square feet, this is largest casino in Norwegian’s fleet.

Activities For The Whole Family

In another first for Norwegian Cruise Line, they will be offering childcare services for children ages 6 months to 3 years old. This will be part of their Guppies program and will feature age-appropriate games and activities. For older kids there is a kid’s club called Splash Academy. Children will be divided into three different groups: Turtles for ages 3-5, Seals for ages 6-9 and Dolphins for ages 10-12. Located on Deck 5, kids can participate in the Circus program or in the Officer Snook Theme Day where they will take part in activities and games that have an environmental theme. For teens ages 13-17 there is a teen club where they can play games, have dance parties, watch movies and listen to music.

To date, this is Norwegian’s largest vessel. It’s about 10% larger than the Norwegian Getaway and Breakaway. At 164,600 tons, it is one of the top five biggest cruise ships to ever have been built. Next up is its sister ship, the Norwegian Bliss, that’s due to set sail in 2017.
