Princess Cruises 2021 – COVID-19, Princess Cruise With Confidence, New Ships, New Itineraries & More

2083

Princess Cruises is focusing on 2021 cruises with some great promotions featuring their new ships and new worldwide itineraries as well.

In order to provide reassurance to consumers, Princess Cruises has made travel more flexible & less worrisome. They are actively working with public health officials and medical experts including the U.S. Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC,) and the World Health Organization (WHO,) as well as the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA,) to define & implement best practices to protest the health of guests & crew as it relates to COVID-19.

Here are some actions they are taking to ensure guests can sail confidently and safely with Princess.

Princess Cruise With Confidence

Princess has temporarily revised their final payment dates and cancellation policies for voyages through April 30, 2021. As always, any payments made prior to the final payment date are refundable. Princess has new policies handling cancellations and refunds after the final payment date:

  • Cancel up to 30 days before you sail and receive a Future Cruise Credit for any cancellation fees and a refund of additional funds received to the original payment method.
  • Final payment is due 60 days before departure, not the usual 90 days.

If you have purchased Princess Vacation Protection, your refunds for covered cancellation reasons will continue to be governed by Princess Vacation Protection. Please review the plan coverage, conditions and exclusions for full details. Princess Vacation Protection is available to residents of the U.S. and Canada (except Quebec and Puerto Rico).

  • Pre-Cruise
Itineraries may be modified. While they will work to minimize changes, it may be necessary to cancel or modify itineraries to impacted areas as they monitor the global health map. In some cases, they may replace a port.
  • Prior to Boarding the Ship
Travelers (& crew,) can expect thermal scanning. All guests presenting fever or flu-like symptoms will be denied boarding. Guests will be issued a full cruise credit if they are denied boarding.
Travelers (& crew) will have to complete a health declaration. This health declaration screens for COVID-19 & advises guests & crew of their obligation to report any symptoms of illness. Important note: Given the serious nature of these circumstances, false responses on pre-boarding documents will result in immediate disembarkation at the next opportunity. Individuals who do not disclose symptoms of illness may also face additional legal consequences.
Passengers may be required to have a 2nd screening by the medical staff in the terminal prior to embarkation.
Finally, there will be heightened sanitation of cruise terminals. Princess will thoroughly clean all hand-touched surfaces before and after each sailing and fogging each terminal before embarkation and debarkation. Hand sanitizers will be places in easy to use locations for all staff & guests. For guests with pre-cruise transfers, buses will be sanitized prior to guests boarding.
  • Onboard – What to Expect
Enhanced sanitation & health measures in addition to their existing daily cleaning regimen & standards to include more frequent sanitizing of tables, chairs, menus & other surfaces in restaurants & bars before & after service; more frequent open deck sanitation of sun loungers, outdoor furniture, mini-golf, sports equipment & handrails; additional sanitizing of frequently hand-touched surfaces in all public areas, lobbies, elevators, public bathrooms & phones, counters, medical centers, gangways, casino chips & more; temperature in washer/dryer has been increased for enhanced disinfection of laundered goods including bedding, tablecloths, towels, napkins, etc.; increased supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) onboard; frequent training & daily communication with all crew on protocols; crew may also be wearing facemasks.
