There’s something special about going on a Princess cruise, and the fleet just got a bit more exclusive with the introduction of the newest ship, the Royal Princess. This grand ship can carry 3,560 guests in the elegance and style that is characteristic of Princess. She was introduced in June 2013 and has several great itineraries coming up through the rest of 2013 and into 2014. Are you wondering what makes the Royal Princess special enough that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge christened her in Southampton? Read on to find out more about this exquisite ship and upcoming itineraries:
-
The Atrium: The Royal Princess atrium is substantially larger than those on the other ships. Here, you can grab a bite to eat, socialize with other cruise-goers, relax, watch live entertainment and take in the ambiance that those accustomed to sailing with Princess have come to expect. The atrium (pictured to the right,) has been decorated in a warm, sophisticated style.
-
Dining: While aboard the Royal Princess, you’ll have your pick of meals made from the freshest ingredients and with signature Princess style. There are a few different dining plans to choose from. With the traditional plan, you’ll enjoy dining at the same time, with the same tablemates and with the same waiter each evening. On the anytime plan, you have more flexibility and can choose where, when and with whom you dine. The specialty restaurants, including Sabatinis and Crown Grill, are for celebrating or observing a special occasion while on your cruise. And of course there are many casual dining options for grabbing a snack or enjoying a meal outside of the dining rooms. Here you can enjoy a buffet, a seafood bar, desserts, gelato, pastries, sushi, pizza and more.
-
Entertainment: One of the features of the Royal Princess includes a huge under-the-stars movie screen. Here, you can watch new movies, concerts and sporting events on the big screen while enjoying popcorn. There are two additional theaters, one featuring live entertainment and interactive shows. There is a water and light show, a casino and a nightclub; you won’t want to miss any of these. You’ll also want to visit at least one, but preferably more, of the lounges that have live music nightly.
-
Staterooms: The staterooms have been upgraded and meticulously designed, as well. Whether you choose an interior room, a balcony room, a deluxe balcony, a mini-suite or a full suite with balcony, you will be pampered with the amenities that you would expect from Princess Cruises.
- Sports & Fitness: Designed with a range of activity levels in mind, the sports and fitness options allow you to stick to your regular training program or try out some new activities while onboard. Fitness center with treadmills, recumbent bicycles, ellipticals, strength equipment and free weights. Private aerobics studios – spinning, yoga, pilates and TRX classes. Putting green, bocce ball and croquet area. Outdoor jogging track and exercise circuit, center court basketball, volleyball and tennis, table tennis, laser shooting range and indoor golf driving range.
