New Cruise Ships Arriving 2022

Looking forward to 2022? We are looking forward to over 17 brand new ocean cruise ships arriving in 2022. Practically every category of the cruise industry will see at least one new ship in the coming year. Some of the entertainment options and features on these new ships for 2022 will blow your mind. Here is a quick rundown…

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean Cruise LineWonder of the Seas Cruise ship. This is the 5th Oasis Class ship and the largest to date holding 6,988 passengers and eight “neighborhoods”. Its Suite Class Neighborhood will offer a keycard-accessible area, the Coastal Kitchen and an elevated Sun Deck with plunge pool and bar. The Vue is a new cantilevered pool bar and Royal Caribbean staples include Flow Rider, Ultimate Abyss, Perfect Storm waterslides, 150 Central park, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, The Lime and Coconut, Schooner Bar, and Playmakers. The Wonder of the Seas will soon become the world’s largest cruise ship and, when she debuts in March 2022.

Viking Cruise Line

Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris are very different from Viking Cruise Line’s previous vessels. These sister ships are the line’s first Polaris class vessels, featuring new spaces designed with expedition cruising in mind.
Highlights of these new ships are :
– The Hangar – an in-ship marina making it easier  to get in and out of zodiacs and kayaks.
– The Laboratory – work space for resident scientists to do research with Cruisers having supervised access to participate with the scientists.
– Nordic Balconies –  sunroom that converts into an al fresco viewing platform
– Submarines – each ship will have two six-guest submarines with revolving seats and 270-degree spherical windows.

Viking Mars and Viking Neptune –  930-passenger expedition ships identical to all that have come before including the Explorer’s Lounge, Wintergarden, Aquavit Terrace and the Living Room. All dining is included on Viking’s ocean-going ships.

Virgin Voyages

The Valiant Lady debuts in March and Resilient Lady cruise ship debuts in August – both Virgin Voyages cruise line ships will launch in Europe and are carbon copies to the Scarlet Lady. Highlights of these ships include dining in all nine eateries included in the cruise fare, two fitness centers, and an outdoor Athletics Club. A wide selection of bars and interactive entertainment add to the exciting nightlife aboard.

Princess Cruises

Discovery Princess joins the fleet in March. The sixth and final ship in Princess Cruises Royal Class similar to Enchanted Princess with Gigi’s Pizza, Salty Dog Gastropub and Take Five, the atmospheric bar where live jazz and craft cocktails are the main attraction.


Other Cruise Ships coming in 2022 (April – December)

April Debuts

Celebrity Beyond – longer and taller than the first two Edge-class ships with a Sunset Bar, a larger Resort Dec, the first at-sea restaurant from the famed Chef Daniel Boulud and two-story Edge Villas with private outdoor plunge pools.

Seabourn Venture – an upscale expedition cruise ship with the all-suite, all-balcony features, two six-person submarines and an underwater camera that will stream footage into the onboard Discovery Center, 24 Zodiac boats, a high indoor viewing point with floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering a 270-degree view and 26 expedition guides giving lectures and leading shore excursions.

Summer: June & August

Disney Wish cruise ship – a new cabin category will be introduced with seven oceanview rooms located directly above the bridge featuring floor-to-ceiling windows for a panoramic view. 70% of the 1254 staterooms will have a balcony and 451 will offer a connecting door. The Royal Suites will have a Sleeping Beauty theme.  Features include, AquaMouse  a water coaster ride, six pools including a Toy Story themed space for younger kids, a “Frozen” themed restaurant and the Marvel restaurant, having diners engaging in interactive Avengers missions while they dine.

Norwegian Prima cruise – first in a new class of vessel with a go cart track on three levels, “The Drop” a freefall dry slide plunging riders down 10 stories on the outside of the ship, a glass-bottom section to view the ocean below, a virtual gaming complex, a “Tidal Wave”  inner tube waterslide, a “Food Hall” with sit-down venues of distinctive cuisines, and “Summer” the main entertainment space to Broadway-style theater.

Carnival Celebration – a sister ship to Carnival’s first XL-class ship holds 5374 passengers with the same fun features found on the Marti Gras. Highlights are six themed zones, each with its own eateries, bars and attractions, “Bolt” , a roller coaster t sea, RedFRog Tiki Bar and Shaq’s Big Chicken.

MSC Seascape – the first of two MSC cruise ships to launch in 2022 with 5877 guests. Seascape will feature lots of outdoor space including a promenade with al fresco dining, an F1 racecar simulator, virtual reality river rafting simulator and immersive XD Cinema.

MSC World Europa – the line’s largest and first to be powered by LNG fuel will tower  21 decks above the ocean with themed districts that range from adults-only to kid-friendly, a 295 foot long partially open-air promenade featuring an 11 deck dry slide called “The Spiral”. She will have six pools and a multi-slide Aquapark. The ship will offer 13 dining venues including four main restaurants and three buffets. The Chef’s Garden Kitchen will focus on microgreens and La Pescaderia is an al fresco seafood grill.
