Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Bliss Cruise Ship
As we round out our two day inaugural aboard Norwegian’s Bliss this evening, I’ve decided to rename the ship “Del Rios Bliss”.
Having been aboard the Oceania Marina and Oceania Riviera, I can say first hand that Norwegian’s Bliss was all Del Rio. From the the ship’s look to the food, there is no mistaking his involvement.
Subsequent to today’s training, there is no doubt in saying that the coming years to be a new dawn at Norwegian Cruise Line! From their new port to the exclusive services for Haven Guests (Valet Parking & Waiting Lounge), & upcoming ships, NCL is becoming more and more tasteful. And on the subject of taste, the food aboard Norwegian’s bliss is a culinary delight in terms of quality. From the Beef Wellington to the Sturgeon Caviar, the epicurean journey unseen on any ship in NCL’s caliber not excluding NCL itself was absolutely amazing aboard The Bliss! If I were to critique an experience, it would be while at Margaritaville when I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger – some of the bacon was barely cooked and the part that was, was nowhere near crispy. That said, make sure to ask that the bacon be served crispy.
If and when you find yourself at Margaritaville, make sure to visit the Go Cart Track located right above it… The carts remind me of the new electric Grand Prix vehicles, but scaled down… As the carts start up, the simulated roar that follows makes the experience feel as if you were really racing! The same can be said about the Laser Tag experience aboard the ship… Unlike another cruise line that inflates its laser tag partitions, NCL has gone the extra mile to build out an entire facility that makes you feel as if you were in a Halo Game. Even though NCL has done it’s part to make The Bliss more family, it has also taken away in order to make the ship more luxurious as well as fun.
Norwegian’s private islands of Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye have received an amazing upgrade unlike any other private cruise line island in the Caribbean! Imagine yourself stepping foot on one of these two islands and entering what is to be an oasis of luxury… We are talking glass-enclosed air-conditioned one bedroom apartments with separate living space and outdoor patios. These are NCL’s version of bungalows only amped up to the tenth power of what a regular bungalow looks like! Andy Cohen even went out of his way to remind us all to secure the bungalow when we Book because there will be NO WAY to book onboard.
As I wonder where NCL stands against all the other brands based on what I’ve experienced aboard The Bliss, this writer might have to re-evaluate… That said, if and only if NCL continues to build from Del Rios Bliss, I would be inclined to skip over towards premium and place NCL ahead of even Princess, again based on NCL continuing to build from Del Rios Bliss.
