Discover the inspiration behind the bold art splashed across the hull of the new Norwegian Encore cruise ship.
An ocean cruising vessel makes her dramatic entrance into port thanks in part to the vivid artwork painted across her hull. See what’s behind the brilliant hull art of Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest and final Breakaway Plus class ship, the Norwegian Encore.
Debuting in Miami in November 2019, Norwegian Encore will be unmistakable due to the labyrinth of colors painted by award-winning Spanish artist Eduardo Arranz-Bravo. Marked by bright blue, green, yellow and red tones, the flowing design was inspired by the artist’s relationship with his birthplace of Barcelona…home to generations of celebrated artists such as Antoni Gaugi, Joan Miro and Anotni Tapies.
“Norwegian Cruise Line is a dynamic, pioneering company known for its innovate experiences and breathtaking collection of beautifully designed ships,” said Arranz-Bravo. I am honored to not only bring that vibrancy to life even more on Norwegian Encore but also showcase my love for the ocean and my hometown of Barcelona.”

The ship will offer feature the Broadway show, Kinky Boots, along with Choir Man. It will also have the largest race track at sea and the largest open-air laser tag course on a cruise ship. The ship’s maiden voyage is a 9 day Transatlantic cruise from London in November 2019. The NCL Encore will be cruising the Caribbean from Miami in the fall of 2019 and winter 2020, before heading up to New York in the spring and summer of 2020 for Bermuda cruises.
