Initially only planned for their newer ship, it was announced that Princess Cruises 2021 will feature the MedallionClass Experience on its entire fleet of ships, offering a number of new features that leverage touchless technologies and significantly enhance and personalize the guest experience, as well as support new health protocols.
The cruise line’s OceanMedallion™ wearable device replaces the traditional cruise card and pairs with embedded IoT (“Internet of things”) -driven innovative technology to significantly expand touch-free options and personalization on board Princess MedallionClass™ ships including:
- touchless embarkation and disembarkation
- keyless stateroom entry
- completely contactless commerce
- simplified safety training (safety video will be available on your device)
- on-demand food, beverages and retail items delivered anywhere on board
- guest service requests via mobile device chat
- location-based gaming and wagering
- entertainment content via smart devices (First run movies on the go)

Once on board, MedallionNet™ delivers the best Wi-Fi at sea to stay connected no matter where you are on the ship – send texts, post photos, video chat, even stream your favorite movies and music with ease!With OceanNow™, your drinks will find YOU! Order drinks from your device and your wearable Medallion sends crew members directly to you, so you won’t miss a moment of relaxation.
Finding your friends, family and way around the ship has never been easier than with OceanCompass™. This personal interactive navigator can guide you where you want to go and help you locate other Medallions right from your smart device or on portals throughout the ship.
You also have stateroom access with your Medallion, plus there’s MedallionPay™, providing easy on board payments; OceanCasino,™ where guests can wager real money on casino-style games anywhere on board; and with PlayOcean™ families can play games like trivia and ship-wide scavenger hunts together.
Built initially for MedallionClass™ ships, Princess Cruises started this program on the Sky Princess in the fall of 2019 and Enchanted Princess cruise ship in summer 2020.
