A Day in the Life of an AMA River Cruise

1291

Ever wonder what it’s like to travel on a river cruise? A river cruise puts you at the heart of Europe’s history and beauty.  Experienced travelers agree that a European river cruise is one of the most enjoyable and hassle-free ways to explore Europe’s castles, cathedrals and picturesque villages.

AmaWaterways has Europe’s newest and most state-of-the-art river cruise ship, offering an all-inclusive, intimate experience with special highlights on board.

Here is a “Day in the Life” while onboard the AmaWaterways ms AmaDagio cruising along the Danube River.

8:30 a.m.
Wake up refreshed in your deluxe stateroom.  Draw open the curtains to admire the classic panorama of village rooftops, church spires and ancient vineyards.  Follow the aroma of coffee and fresh-baked pastries, and enjoy a quiet breakfast in the dining room.  Next take a stroll on deck to watch the fascinating river-side activity.11:15 a.m.
Step ashore to explore the city’s wonders.  Your knowledgeable, local guide will show you the important sites as well as hidden treasures, sharing little known local history and culture (you’ll love the wireless headsets.)  Experience the heart of the city, from magnificent cathedrals and wonderful museums, to bustling town squares.  Taste the finest of local fare for lunch.  Take photographs. Send postcards. Relax.  No need to rush.3:00 p.m.
On the personal suggestion of the ship’s concierge, you’ve wandered through an afternoon marketplace to find exquisite local handicrafts and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.  You pedaled your complimentary bike along a country lane to a village cafe to enjoy coffee and palascinta (similar to crepes with a sweet, tangy filling.)  Return to your ship to refresh, sip a cocktail and visit with friends.

7:30 p.m.
Your sumptuous dinner begins as the captain welcomes you warmly.  To the accompaniment of a chamber quartet, you enjoy locally sourced gourmet delicacies and hand-selected wines.  The conversation is stimulating and unhurried.  Lights twinkle along the river and stars fill the night sky.  You toast the day’s adventures, and plan with your companions for the next day ahead.
