Although it’s not the news we all hoped for with cruises resuming out of the U.S., there are more and more options being released for avid cruisers who want to cruise this summer. In the past week Royal Caribbean has announced that they will be sailing out of Bermuda and Nassau from June through August. Celebrity Cruise 2021 will also start Caribbean sailings out of St. Maarten in June.
The Celebrity Apex cruise ship will sail 7-night, round trip departures from Athens starting on June 19. She will visit three Greek Islands, Limassol, Cyprus and Haifa, Israel. In addition to Cyprus and Israel, the ship will call at Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini. Guests will have the opportunity to visit the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes, with its spectacular architecture, the beautiful beaches of Mykonos, and the UNESCO World Heritage, architectural wonders of Santorini. During the Haifa stop, a shore excursion to Jerusalem will be offered, with guests being allowed to disembark unescorted.
Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas cruise ship will homeport in Cyprus with 7-night sailings to Athens, Rhodes, Crete, Mykonos and Santorini, starting on July 10. Reservations open April 7th, 2021.
“We are delighted that Royal Caribbean will call Limassol its homeport for the first time ever,” Savvas Perdios, the deputy minister of tourism for Cyprus, said in a statement. “This has been an ambition of ours for many years, and we are thrilled that, finally, this dream has come to fruition.”
Both cruise options are open to fully vaccinated adults and those under 18 years of age. You will also still need negative test results completed 72 hours prior to travel.
Royal’s newest ship, the Odyssey of the Seas, will sail from Haifa, Israel starting in May. That is currently for citizens of Israel only, but it is possible that it will open up to other countries in the near future.
