Quantum of the Seas Futuristic Observation Pod

Royal Caribbean Cruises is offering its guests the chance to fly like a bird on Quantum of the Seas Futuristic Observation Pod. Well, not exactly. They recently debuted a capsule called The North Star that lifts guests high above the ocean. It will be available on the Quantum of the Seas this fall.  Quantum of the Seas is set to sail from New York in the November of 2014 and guests can choose from a southern or eastern Caribbean itinerary or Bahamas itinerary. The Logistics
Up to 14 guests can ride in the Quantum of the Seas Futuristic Observation Pod at one time. The observation pod will lift them 300 feet off the ground, so they can look out of the glass windows and see breathtaking 360-degree view of the ocean and destinations. It was inspired by the London Eye. Unlike the London Eye, there will be no charge to ride the North Star.  Rumor has it in the future they may offer unique wedding packages inside the North Star.

Other Attractions Coming Out
Both the Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas will be debuting new things for guests to do on their ships that are not available on any other cruise ships. Guests will be able to participate in a skydiving type activity called iFLY. There will also be opportunities to go roller skating, drive bumper cars and even a circus school where you can learn trapeze flying. In addition to these attractions there will be a surf simulator, a rock climbing wall and DreamWorks character meet and greet and entertainment for the kids. The ships will also offer 373 virtual balconies which are inside cabin offer real-time views of the ocean and destinations.

Other Recent News
This isn’t the first time that Royal Caribbean has made news this year. They recently announced that they would be launching the world’s biggest ship, the Oasis 3, in 2018. Both of Royal Caribbean’s ships the Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas, currently hold this title. They are also debuted a new dining concept called Dynamic Dining this month.

It certainly has been an exciting year for Royal Caribbean so far and it seems like they are just getting started with debuting new things on their ships and new destinations that they are traveling too. The Quantum of the Seas will be departing from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey and will move to China in May of 2015. Once there, they will be offering cruises that will go to Japan and Korean. Anthem of the Seas will set sail from Southampton, England in April of 2015 and will move to Cape Liberty in November of 2015. There is also a third Quantum class ship that is expected to set sale sometime during the middle of 2016, but its name or itineraries have not been released yet.
