Reservations Are Now Open for Royal Caribbean Dynamic Dining… Royal Caribbean is offering its guests more dining options. Both the Quantum of the Seas cruise ship and Anthem of the Seas will offer a new dining concept called Dynamic Dining. Guests will be able to choose from 18 different restaurants onboard ship. Starting today, guests booked on either ship can make dining reservations.

Features Of This New Program
Dynamic Dining gives guests the opportunity to eat dinner when and where they want. There aren’t any set times for dinner. Guests also don’t have to wear formal attire on specific nights.

Benefits For Guests
Guests have a lot of flexibility when it comes to this type of dining. They don’t have to plan their day around a meal reservation. Guests can use an online reservations tool to set up a reservation for whatever time they want to eat at. They can even change existing reservations while onboard the ship if the need arises. With Dynamic Dining there are no assigned seats and guests can sit where they want, with whom they want.

Differences Between Dynamic Dining and Traditional Dining
Traditional dining only gives guests the option of main and late dining times. Dynamic Dining allows guests to eat dinner virtually whenever they want to. Guests also have a lot more options when it comes to choosing where they want to eat. The main dining room now has 5 restaurants that offer different menu choices.

Restaurant Options

American Icon Grill
This restaurant consists of comfort food and America fare. Here guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Chic
Chic serves only contemporary cuisine made with the freshest ingredients and many of the menu items are made from scratch.

Coastal Kitchen
The Mediterranean inspired restaurant serves only the freshest foods in a warm, elegant environment. Coastal kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is exclusive to suite guests.

The Grande
The Grande is a luxurious restaurant that features classic dishes in an environment that is more formal than the other restaurants on the ship.

Silk
Opn for dinner only, this vibrant restaurant serves dishes that are usually only found in the Far East.

Next-Level Specialty Dining
Both the Anthem of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas offer guests Next-level signature dining options. These options include:

Devinly Decadence at Solarium Bistro
This restaurant is for those that want to stay fit. All dishes are under 500 calories and were designed by world famous chef, Devin Alexander.

Jamie’s Italian
Jamie’s Italian features some of chef, Jamie Oliver’s favorite dishes. Menu choices include Italian dishes that incorporate seasonal ingredients.

Wonderland
This new specialty restaurant sets the five senses into overload. The chefs on the Royal Caribbean use a variety of different ingredients to create dishes that cannot be found anywhere else.

Michael’s Genuine Pub
This will be the first American gastropub at sea and the next evolution with James Beard Award winning chef Michael Schwartz. Schwartz is also involved with designing seasonal tasting menus in 150 Central Park onboard the Oasis and the Allure of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean Favorites
Guests can still eat at some of their favorite restaurants that they enjoyed from past voyages. Chef’s Table, Chops Grille and Izumi Japanese Cuisine are all still available for guests to dine at on ship, but each restaurant has a revamped menu and look.

Around The Clock Eateries
Royal Caribbean does still have options for guests to eat at any time of day or night. These restaurants include:

The Café @ Two70
This is a gourmet type marketplace that offers items like soups, salads and sandwiches.

SeaPlex Dog House
This is the cruise ship industries first at sea food truck. Guests can order a hot dog while they enjoy the indoor active space called the SeaPlex.

The Grill
The Grill is located inside of the Windjammer Marketplace. Guests can enjoy dishes that are popular in many countries throughout the world.

Guests can also eat at casual restaurants like Cafe’ Promenade and Sorrento’s. It’s important to note that fees may apply for some of these restaurants. Royal Caribbean is also offering guests more choices when it comes to ports that it is sailing from. It will now be sailing the Quantum year round for 3-8 day cruises from China. Itineraries are expected to be available sometime during the summer months.

If you are wondering how gratuities will be handled, it will continue to be automatically added to each person’s cabin onboard.  You can also pre-pay in advance if you wish.  Passenger can go by guest relations if they wanted to remove the gratuities from the auto-charge.

Groups:  One possible drawback we see to this new dining concept is for groups of family and friends traveling together.  Royal Caribbean states that up to 16 guests can dine together, however your reservations may be cross referenced, but there is no guarantee you will all be together at one table, which would be disappointing.  Up to now, as long as everyone in the group booked the same dining time, they would be at the same table.  We have several Quantum of the Seas cruise groups booked and will follow up with you to let you know how the dining reservation process goes for them.
