Starting in 2016, Disney Cruise Line will be bringing some activities, themed after the popular movie Star Wars, onboard their ship Disney Fantasy. Here’s a little bit of information about this exciting event.
The Logistics
Guests will get to participate in:
-Deck parties that are Star Wars themed
-Unique food and beverage choices
-Activities that are geared towards the movie
-Meet and greets with characters
-At-sea screenings of Star Wars Episode VII
Sail Dates
Star Wars Day at Sea will be available on select sailings to the Western Caribbean from early January through the middle of April 2016. Departing dates include:
-January 9th, 23rd
-February 6th, 20th
-March 5th, 19th
-April 2nd, 16th
Other Activities
Despite the length of the cruise, Star Wars activities will only make up a small portion of it as they will only be held on one day of the voyage. Don’t worry though as there’s still plenty to do on a Disney Cruise including:
AquaLab. This water play area consists of 1,800 square feet and features things like geysers and pop jets.
Nephews’ Splash Zone. This splash area is similar to AquaLab, but is made for children that are 3 and under.
Disney’s Believe. This Broadway type show features more than 20 Disney Characters.
Disney Wishes. This theatre production celebrates all things Disney. Some of its beloved characters take viewers on a journey of learning how to stay young at heart as they grow up.
Pools. There are a variety of pools located on Disney Fantasy including Donald’s Pool and Mickey’s Pool. They feature a large painting of Donald or Mickey at the bottom of the pool.
Castaway Cay. In addition to all of the activities onboard ship, guests will still get to visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. While on the island there will be a variety of activities for guests to enjoy.
This will be the first time that the characters from Star Wars are officially making an appearance at sea. Even those that aren’t into the Star Wars movies, may enjoy this event so much that they find themselves watching the whole series of movies once they get back home.
