Non-cruisers get ready for a cruise that’s just for you! Virgin Voyages will be launching in 2020 and is expected to be a lot different than any other cruise that’s on the market. Business mogul, Richard Branson, is behind the new Virgin Voyages. Here’s what passengers can expect.
-An adult’s only experience. This ship is only for those that are 18 and up. Passengers who are younger than this will need to stay home as this ship is not for them.
-Later arrival times. There are talks about the possibility of arrival times at port being later than the typical 7 or 8 a.m. This means that guests will be able to sleep in or at least start their day out slowly without feeling rushed to get off of the ship.
-Bundle package. One of the things that many passengers like is that cruise ships tend to be all inclusive and they don’t have to do a lot of work. Virgin Voyages is going one step further as passengers will also be able to bundle some parts of their vacation such as flying on a Virgin flight or staying at a Virgin hotel.
-Mostly balconies cabins. Almost all of the cabins, about 86%, of them will have balconies. 93% of the cabins will also have an ocean view.
-More in depth shore excursions. Many cruise passengers feel like their shore excursions don’t really delve into the area they are visiting. A lot of the different shore excursions that will be offered on Virgin Voyages will be more in depth and allow passengers the ability to go places that other cruise passengers haven’t.
-A yacht like feel. Despite the fact that this will be a mid-sized cruise ship and have the ability to carry 2,750 passengers, they will feel as if they are on a yacht. The ship will have interesting elements when it comes to their lighting as well as smoked glass.
-Immersive entertainment. Those on this ship will have a lot of entertainment options in order to keep them busy while they are at sea. However, all of the entertainment will be immersive, meaning, that passengers will be a part of whatever it is that they partake in.
While we still don’t know much else about this ship, it’s also supposed to have some industry firsts, but the goal is that it will have exactly what passengers want. After the first ship is launched there will be two more hitting the waters shortly after. The second ships will launch in 2021 and the third in 2022.
